Gender Diversity Lead

Work Type:

Location:

Brisbane - QLD

  • 12-24 month fixed term contract
  • Embed practical, scalable systems that improve attraction and progression
  • Lead the next phase of change
About the Organisation

This organisation operates at scale in a complex, asset-intensive environment, with a large, geographically dispersed and predominantly blue-collar workforce.

Over recent years, there has been significant progress in gender diversity, driven by leadership commitment, modernised people policies and targeted initiatives. However, the challenge remains in deep operational roles and with clear 2030 targets in place, the focus has now shifted to embedding diversity into the way operations run day-to-day.

About the Role

Reporting into a senior Operations leader and working closely with HR, you will take ownership of driving gender diversity outcomes for Operations.

This will involve:

  • Translating existing strategy and initiatives into practical, site-ready systems, tools and leader behaviours
  • Identifying and prioritising “tough spot” roles through data and insight, and driving targeted interventions
  • Enabling and influencing operational leaders to take real ownership of outcomes
  • Embedding improvements across workforce practices, including flexibility, parental leave, facilities and progression pathways
  • Supporting the development of new entry pathways into operational roles for women
  • Driving a clear roadmap, governance and measurable outcomes across Operations
This role has an emphasis on making what exists actually work, at scale, in complex environments.

About You

You are a credible, commercially minded leader who understands how to drive change in operational environments.

You will bring:
  • Experience in asset-intensive or operational industries
    (e.g. energy, resources, infrastructure, construction)
  • A track record of embedding workforce or culture initiatives into operations — not just designing them
  • Strong understanding of attraction and retention challenges in competitive, trade-based labour markets
  • The ability to build trust and influence with frontline and operational leaders
  • A systems mindset — you think in terms of structure, process and scalability, not one-off initiatives
You may come from a senior HR / workforce background or a transformation role — but your strength is in execution and embedding change where it matters most.
