How quickly will someone get back to me?

We aim to respond to all enquiries within one business day. For urgent contractor requirements, call your nearest office directly — we can often present available candidates within 24–48 hours of receiving a brief. Vacancy submissions and resume registrations are reviewed the same day they're received.

I'm looking for an HR job — what's the best way to register?

Submit your resume at thenextstep.com.au/jobseekers/submit-resume. A consultant will be in touch to discuss your experience, goals and the current market. You can also search our live job board for currently advertised roles, or set up a job alert to be notified the moment a relevant role is listed. Many of the best HR roles are filled before they're advertised — registering with us gives you access to both.

I want to hire an HR professional — how do I get started?

Submit your vacancy at thenextstep.com.au/employers/submit-vacancy or call your nearest office directly. A specialist HR consultant will follow up to take a detailed brief — not just the job description, but the context, the team, and what you're really looking for. We'll advise on market conditions and present a shortlist of thoroughly assessed candidates.

Does The Next Step recruit HR roles outside Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane?

Yes — our national network means we recruit HR professionals across Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and regional Australia as well. For interstate roles, call our nearest office or submit your vacancy online and we'll advise on candidate availability and market conditions in your location.

What are The Next Step's office hours?

Our offices are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm AEST. Outside these hours, you can submit an enquiry via the form above or email info@thenextstep.com.au and we'll respond on the next business day.
