About the Role
As General Manager – People & Capability, you’ll partner with the CEO, senior leaders and a cohesive GM cohort to drive people strategy, capability growth and cultural evolution in an AI-shifting legal landscape. Leading a small HR team, you’ll shape the employee experience, oversee governance, recruitment and talent pipelines, and deliver future-focused insights to the CEO and Board.

- Bring a clear vision for how an AI-enabled legal environment will reshape people, processes and service delivery.
- Strengthen learning, coaching and development so professional and personal growth becomes an everyday outcome.
- Provide high-quality governance, policy oversight and Board-level reporting, including talent, succession and leadership insights.
- Shape recruitment, remuneration recommendations and workforce planning using sound judgement, data and industry awareness.
- Set the tone for staff engagement and wellbeing, ensuring the firm remains a balanced, supportive and high-performing workplace.
You are an experienced Human Resources leader with a proven track record in people strategy, organisational capability, and operational improvement, ideally gained within a legal and/or professional services environment. You have demonstrated capability:
- Navigating complexity and leading change with clarity, empathy and judgement.
- Thinking strategically about the future of work in the legal sector, especially in an AI-driven landscape.
- Delivering across the full HR spectrum with hands-on capability and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Partnering confidently with senior stakeholders, including Partners and CEOs.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and practical leadership experience in a high-performing legal and/or professional services environment are required
