About Icare
Icare is dedicated to protecting and caring for millions of people, businesses, and communities across New South Wales through the management of the NSW Government’s insurance and care schemes. Since 2015, icare has been committed to building confidence and trust, making complex schemes simple to deliver better outcomes for people and communities.

Role Overview
Shape and execute a bold, strategic people and wellbeing agenda at one of Australia’s most purpose driven organisations.  Icare’s mission is to protect, insure and care for the people, businesses and communities of NSW. We are seeking a transformative HR leader to take the reins and continue to evolve and elevate the People & Wellbeing function to new heights.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Executive – People & Communication and leading a large, diverse team, this role provides strategic leadership of the People & Culture Business Partnering and People Care (Work Health and Safety and Employee Relations) functions.  Your role will be to shape and execute a P&C agenda that enables enterprise-wide priorities driving holistic and integrated people strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Elevating and leading a high performing business partnering team - embedding the shift to strategic consulting and influence, data driven insight and acting as a catalyst for transformation, innovation and organisational agility.
  • Championing agile ways of working, with a quarterly roadmap of value initiatives that solve real business problems and strengthen culture.
  • Embedding contemporary, risk-based wellbeing and WHS practices that go far beyond one off initiatives towards psychosocial risk management, organisational justice and resilience building.
  • Establishing best practice ER/safety frameworks, policies and systems that shift the dial from reactive to preventative whilst cross training the team in both disciplines.
  • Preparing papers and presenting to Boards and building bold, outcome-focused strategies
Qualifications
Tertiary qualified, you are a contemporary, transformative and people focused leader with deep experience operating in senior HR leadership roles and working with executive stakeholders and Boards. You are a generalist with broad expertise across talent, culture, organisational development, ER, safety & wellbeing and have successfully led transformation and enterprise-wide change. A background in financial services and/or agile environments is desirable.
As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll play a central role in shaping & executing a People & Culture agenda that not only reflects our values but is deeply aligned with our enterprise priorities — ensuring our people strategy supports and accelerates organisational performance and impact.

Why icare?
At icare, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven team that's reshaping the future of insurance and care in NSW. We offer:
  • A collaborative and inclusive culture
  • Opportunities to influence whole-of-government outcomes
  • Fitness and health related corporate discounted rates
  • Flexible work arrangements and competitive remuneration
