About Them
Our client is a high-energy, customer-led business operating across a large, distributed network. With over 25,000 employees and a strong national presence, they’re a brand most Australians know well—and one that’s firmly focused on creating a values-led, high-performance culture.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the Head of Capability will lead the charge on enterprise-wide learning, engagement, and capability strategies. With 2 direct reports and close partnership with state-based training teams, you’ll be responsible for driving learning and recognition programs that genuinely move the dial—particularly across mid-level operational leaders.

This is a hands-on role that blends strategy and execution. You’ll be building on a strong foundation already in place, with the remit to evolve and modernise what’s working. Key priorities include lifting leadership capability, refreshing onboarding, embedding career pathways, and owning the transition of learning content into Workday.

You'll also lead employee engagement initiatives, shape EVP, and oversee systems and platforms that connect, recognise and retain the frontline workforce.

About You
You’re a pragmatic operator with experience leading learning, engagement or capability functions in fast-paced, customer-facing environments—think QSR, retail, hospitality or similar. You bring strong credibility with stakeholders, a high degree of comfort working at scale, and the ability to roll with the punches in a dynamic setting.

You’re not overly corporate—but you’re strategic, commercially-minded and know how to get traction with initiatives that work. Whether it’s career architecture, recognition programs or systems rollouts, you can design it, deliver it, and get others on board. You’re comfortable in the detail, but always have an eye on the bigger picture.

Culture & Benefits
This is a fast-paced environment, with a lot of moving parts—but one where people genuinely care, and want to do right by the team. Learning initiatives are embraced, and your impact will be seen and felt across the frontline.

The role is based in Sydney CBD fringe with 4 days in the office required. The salary is circa $200,000 plus super.
