About the business
This is a well-established, privately owned services organisation with approximately 200 team members, made up of a mix of employees and contractors. Operating across multiple sites in NSW, the business has a strong leadership presence in Sydney and a clear commitment to its people.
After a stable and successful 2025, the organisation is entering its next phase with confidence and momentum. Culture here isn’t a buzzword — it genuinely matters. The environment is high-energy, relationship-driven and people-focused, with a strong emphasis on engagement, retention and team stability.
Commercially astute and performance-led, the business balances results with wellbeing, collaboration and doing things properly.

About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role sits on the executive leadership team and plays a visible, influential part in the business.
This is a true hands-on generalist role, blending day-to-day operational HR with strategic input. You’ll be the trusted adviser to leaders across multiple sites, supporting the full employee lifecycle while ensuring strong compliance, consistency and practical people frameworks.
Your remit will include:
  • Acting as a trusted HR partner to leaders across a geographically dispersed workforce
  • Managing performance management, employee relations and complex people matters
  • Owning award interpretation and broader HR compliance
  • Developing, embedding and improving fit-for-purpose HR policies and frameworks
  • Overseeing WHS and risk management obligations
  • Supporting culture, engagement and wellbeing initiatives
  • Partnering closely with the internal recruitment function on workforce planning and hiring
  • Bringing clarity, structure and consistency to people processes, while remaining pragmatic and approachable
This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships and balancing commercial realities with best-practice HR.

About you
You’re a capable, grounded HR generalist who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working with a broad range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
  • Solid experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast-paced, sales-led or multi-site environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and awards
  • Confidence advising leaders on performance management, ER matters and policy interpretation
  • The maturity to challenge constructively when needed, while remaining practical and solutions-focused
  • A collaborative, down-to-earth style — you’re happy to pitch in and get things done
  • Relevant HR qualifications and full Australian working rights
