Reporting to the Director – Talent, Inclusion & Learning & Growth, you will be accountable for building and sustaining the organisation’s executive leadership and talent infrastructure. You will influence how senior leaders are identified, assessed, developed and transitioned, with direct oversight of executive search, succession planning and leadership frameworks for the organisation’s most critical roles (top ~120 leaders).
This is a senior, enterprise-facing role that blends strategic leadership, thought leadership and hands-on execution. It will suit a leader who thrives in complexity, is comfortable operating in agile and matrixed environments, and enjoys translating sophisticated concepts into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with executives and boards.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leveraging AI, modern search methodologies and talent intelligence to strengthen decision-making, market insight and candidate experience
- Strengthening executive onboarding and transition practices to deliver greater structure, insight and scalability
- Establishing consistent, enterprise-wide succession and leadership pipeline disciplines for critical roles
- Shifting executive talent decisions from opinion-led to evidence-based, improving visibility of readiness, risk and bench strength
- Building confidence in internal mobility and accelerated development for senior leaders
- Leading the in-house Executive Search capability, distinct from BAU Talent Acquisition, governing CEO-1 and CEO-2 appointments
- Partnering closely with the CEO, Group Executives and select external firms to deliver rigorous, data-informed and technology-enabled selection processes
- Defining and embedding clear, practical leadership expectations aligned to enterprise strategy and culture
- Ensuring leadership frameworks are integrated across assessment, succession, development and performance processes
- Serving as a true thought leader, bringing global trends, research and innovation in leadership, talent and culture to inform enterprise solutions.
Commercially astute, you understand how leadership quality directly impacts performance, risk and long-term value. You are confident navigating ambiguity, agile ways of working and matrix structures, and known for your ability to simplify complexity and create clarity.
An Organisational Psychology background and/or Executive Coaching accreditation is highly regarded. Experience in retail or similarly large-scale, customer-facing or operational environments will be well regarded. This is a compelling opportunity to shape leadership capability and culture at scale, with high visibility, genuine influence and the chance to leave a lasting imprint on how executive talent is built and sustained.
