Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will play a key role in supporting around 200-300 employees, across various national sites and providing coaching and advice to leaders on best practice people management. Your employee relations skills will come into play, along with your resilient, pragmatic approach in handling difficult and sometimes emotionally challenging workplace issues.
This role will be based in Rhodes 2-3 days per week, and otherwise require travel in and around Sydney, including Central Coast, Wollongong and Orange.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disputes, and performance issues.
- Partnering with business leaders to drive fit for purpose HR solutions, ensuring compliance and fairness in all processes.
- Providing expert coaching and advice to managers on handling sensitive situations with confidence and care.
- Supporting broader people initiatives, including engagement, succession management, change management, and workforce planning.
- Working closely with HR colleagues to implement and refine policies and processes that support the business’s strategic objectives.
Tertiary qualified, you are an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations and case management experience gained from multi-site or service orientated, unionised environments. With strong stakeholder management skills, you can navigate ambiguity and balance business needs with employee wellbeing. You thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, where resilience and emotional intelligence are critical. As a “hands on” operator, you are happiest when coaching and influencing leaders, as this role will see you partnering with leaders to build their people management capability.
