The role
Joining a small HR team, the role of HR Business Partner will work closely with operational leaders and teams, helping ensure people processes run smoothly and the workplace remains positive, productive, and future-focused.
Reporting to the HR and Training Manager, you’ll play a hands-on role in areas such as workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, and reporting to ensure the business meets compliance requirements. You’ll be a go-to person for employees and leaders, offering practical advice and support to help solve everyday challenges.
We’re looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who’s happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved in whatever the business needs, whether that’s tackling a complex employee matter, HRIS reporting, recruitment, or training, there’s plenty to do!
What you’ll be doing:
- Work with leaders across the business to provide practical advice and support.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations and performance issues.
- Keep HR systems up to date and use data to produce useful insights and reports.
- Support workforce planning, performance reviews, and organisational development programs.
- Help review and improve policies, frameworks, and processes.
- Analyse HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
You have experience supporting operational blue-collar workforces and enjoy a varied role. You can pivot from one priority to the next, are organised, have strong communication skills, and can build relationships at all levels to get the job done. Ideally, you have:
- Qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, or similar.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a generalist or HR business partner role, ideally in an operational or industrial setting.
- A solid understanding of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act and awards.
- Great communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to think strategically while being willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
