About the Role

As HR Business Partner, you will provide trusted HR advice and support to leaders, with a strong focus on employee relations, industrial relations, and workforce capability. You will partner with operational leaders to resolve complex people matters, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and enterprise agreements, and contribute to building a positive workplace culture.
This role is based preferably in Townsville, but we will also consider Brisbane-based applicants who are open to regular travel to Townsville.

  • Partner with business leaders to provide HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Lead and manage employee relations and industrial relations matters, including performance management, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
  • Support leaders in interpreting awards, agreements, and HR policies.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, talent development and change initiatives.
  • Coach and build leadership capability in managing people effectively.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
About You
  • Demonstrated experience as a HR Business Partner or similar, ideally within heavy industry, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, or another complex operational environment.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations and industrial relations, including case management and union engagement.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Proven capability in managing competing priorities in fast-paced, operational settings.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline preferred.
