About the Organisation

This large national services contractor supports essential infrastructure and operational projects across Australia, employing more than 5,000 people nationally. With significant growth underway in Queensland, the organisation has recently secured major projects that will further expand its footprint in the region.


The business operates in highly operational, blue collar environments and has built a strong reputation for collaboration, pace and practical decision making. The HR team is well regarded internally and works closely with leaders who value genuine partnership and support.


About the Role

This Brisbane based HR Business Partner contract will support a range of operational workforce initiatives across Queensland and NSW, with an immediate focus on integration activity and large scale outage mobilisation projects.

Working closely with experienced HR leaders and operational stakeholders, you will provide hands-on support across onboarding, contract generation, workforce coordination and general HR partnering activities. The workforce includes electricians, boilermakers and fitters within a highly unionised and complex EBA environment involving approximately 40 enterprise agreements.
The role will initially lean heavily into project and operational delivery work, with opportunities to contribute more strategically as projects evolve.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting onboarding and mobilisation activity for major outage projects
  • Preparing and generating employment contracts as part of acquisition activity
  • Providing practical HR advice to operational leaders
  • Assisting with workforce coordination across Queensland and NSW projects
  • Supporting HR systems activity within Workday and broader HR processes
  • Contributing to integration and people projects within a fast paced environment
The role is primarily based between Fortitude Valley and Banyo, with flexibility to work from home two days per week. Limited travel may be required, although the role is largely Brisbane based.

About You

You are a practical and adaptable HR professional who enjoys project-focused work and operating in fast moving operational environments.
You may already be working as a HR Business Partner, or be stepping up from a Senior HR Advisor position with exposure to blue collar or industrial workforces.
You will bring:
  • Experience supporting operational or industrial environments
  • Confidence working within complex EBA or unionised settings
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to support where needed
  • Sound judgement and commercial awareness
  • Exposure to HRIS platforms such as Workday highly regarded
Most importantly, you will bring a collaborative mindset, strong relationship skills and the ability to work effectively within a supportive and fast paced team.
