Our client is a well-established global transport and logistics organisation with a strong footprint across Australia and New Zealand. Following significant growth, merger activity in recent years, and recent leadership change, the business is entering a new phase focused on building a more structured, professional, and forward-looking organisation.
With a workforce largely across transport and warehouse operations, the environment is fast-paced, operationally focused, and evolving. The next 12–24 months will see continued cultural uplift, refinement of leadership capability, and the rollout of a new strategic direction, alongside future HRIS implementation and enterprise agreement negotiations.
About the Role
Reporting to the HR Leader, this is a broad HRBP role with significant exposure across a national remit. You’ll operate as a true generalist, supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational HR delivery in a lean team environment.
You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across transport and warehouse operations, with a strong focus on employee relations, workforce support, and navigating complex people challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with leaders across operations, providing pragmatic HR advice and coaching
- Manage ER/IR matters including disciplinary processes, investigations, and risk mitigation
- Support organisational initiatives including culture, engagement, and leadership capability uplift
- Contribute to goal setting frameworks and broader people strategy rollout
- Provide guidance on award interpretation, base rates, and payroll-related queries
- Support end-to-end HR processes including onboarding, performance, and workforce planning
This role suits a resilient and commercially minded HR professional who thrives in a hands-on, lean environment and is comfortable balancing competing priorities. We will be looking out for those:
- Experienced HRBPs with strong exposure to Australian employment law and operational environments
- Confident managing ER/IR matters independently within blue-collar or industrial settings
- Comfortable supporting transport, logistics, or warehouse-based workforces
- Detail-oriented, particularly across awards, base rates, and payroll-related interpretation
- Pragmatic, approachable, and able to build trust with stakeholders at all levels
- Comfortable operating in a resource-constrained environment with a broad and sometimes demanding remit
