This role sits within a well-established and collaborative organisation of approximately 80 employees and contractors, operating in a specialised space across technology. Despite its size, the organisation has a strong leadership culture with a high number of people managers and a genuinely people-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted partner to leaders, providing practical and commercially focused HR advice
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
- Support performance management, development, and engagement initiatives
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters (low-volume, largely informal environment)
- Contribute to learning and development activities
- Oversee policy, compliance, and contract management
- Collaborate on HR projects, including a current HRIS implementation
- Ensure smooth HR operations, working closely with internal support resources
- Proven experience operating in an HR Business Partner role (or an HR Manager looking for some work life balance) from within Australia
- Comfortable balancing strategic partnering with hands-on execution
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build relationships across all levels
- Pragmatic, adaptable and comfortable working in a less structured, agile environment
- Detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of process, policy and compliance work
- Confident working autonomously while staying connected to a small, collaborative team
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or relevant area
