About the Role

This is a newly created position that has come about due to a structural shift within the People & Culture function, where the Group Executive, People & Culture is transitioning to a reduced, part-time capacity and the Head of Human Resources is stepping up into a more strategic General Manager level role, creating a need for a dedicated HR presence on the ground in Melbourne to manage day-to-day operations and stakeholder support.

The position is a true HR Business Partnering role, requiring a highly capable generalist who can operate independently across the full employee lifecycle - from strategic initiatives like performance and reward redesign, workforce planning, and AI-driven change, through to operational delivery such as case management, employee queries, and organisational design- without the support of specialist functions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide expert, timely advice on all people-related matters, including but not limited to performance improvement, employee relations, disciplinary processes, and OH&S.
  • Provide advice, coaching and assistance to managers on performance improvement, disciplinary process and employment relations matters.
  • Providing expert guidance on performance management, case management, and restructuring.
  • Conduct bi-annual REM and performance reviews.
  • Support learning and development initiatives across all levels of the business units.
  • Facilitate divisional engagement survey discussions and action planning
  • Drive transformational change projects in line with the People and Culture roadmap. Assist with planning and implementing organisational change.
This will be a stand-alone HR Business Partner position based in Melbourne as part of a wider People and Culture team located in NSW and QLD.
