We are partnering with a well-established, production-driven organisation in the manufacturing and agricultural industry. They are currently entering a significant and positive period of change and need support to ensure business continuity and set up for future success.
About the Role:
We are looking for someone with broad HR generalist skills, who can support the small HR team with the current workload, provide practical, solutions-focused HR support across a production environment. You’ll balance day-to-day HR advisory, recruitment, policy development, with the ability to pivot into project work — helping shape and embed frameworks that support the business through ownership change. No day will be the same.
This role can be based in Brisbane or Townsville. If Brisbane-based, you will travel to site fortnightly to stay closely connected to operations; other rosters could be considered for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, pragmatic HR advice across employee relations, performance management, and broader workforce matters, with priorities shifting in line with operational needs
- Build strong, credible relationships with leaders across site and corporate functions
- Support the HR Manager and HR Advisor, stepping into priorities as required across the team
- Contribute to and deliver HR projects, including the development and embedding of frameworks, policies, and processes
- Manage recruitment activity, contract management, and onboarding processes
- Maintain close connection with operations to understand workforce dynamics and emerging people needs
- Proven experience in a generalist HR or HR Business Partner role, ideally within a production, industrial, manufacturing, or other operational environment
- employee relations capability, with solid understanding of Australian employment legislation
- Comfortable working in change-heavy, evolving environments where priorities shift quickly and not everything is defined
- Able to pivot, prioritise, and make sound, practical decisions with incomplete information
- Resilient, hands-on, and solutions-focused, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Experience contributing to or leading HR projects, including developing and embedding frameworks or systems
