About the Role
This 6‑month fixed‑term contract is supporting an existing remediation program relating to public holiday underpayments. You’ll work closely with payroll, current and former employees to ensure accurate resolution, compliance with Ombudsman requirements, and strong communication throughout.
You’ll also support broader HR activities, including using your understanding of EBAs to interpret conditions and provide accurate advice and guidance.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing communication and coordination for the remediation program
  • Responding to employee and ex employee queries and managing unclaimed monies
  • Interpreting EBAs to provide advice and guidance on entitlements and conditions
  • Assisting with payroll error resolution and data clarification
   
About You
You are an HR Generalist with strong payroll knowledge who enjoys navigating complexity and working with a wide range of stakeholders. You are confident interpreting EBAs, managing underpayments, and communicating clearly with both current and former employees. You are hands‑on, organised, and comfortable working in a unionised environment.
You will bring:
  • HR Generalist experience (approx. 2+ years)
  • Strong payroll knowledge; particularly in the remediation process
  • Experience with underpayments and EBA interpretation
  • Intermediate Excel skills; Micropay experience preferred
  • Transport industry experience is a bonus
