As the business continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced HR Business Partner to join their Melbourne-based People & Culture team. Reporting to a supportive and down-to-earth People & Culture Lead, this role offers autonomy, ownership, and the chance to shape people practices across a national, multi-site workforce.
This is a hands-on, true generalist role covering the full employee lifecycle across both blue- and white-collar functions. You’ll work closely with leaders to build capability, drive culture, manage risk, and support a fast-growing workforce. You’ll also lead and support a newly appointed HR Coordinator, fostering their growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders on all things people: workforce planning, ER/IR, change, and engagement
- Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, and employment legislation
- Lead recruitment processes and identify smarter ways to attract and assess talent
- Support L&D coordination and contribute to enterprise-wide culture initiatives
- Oversee quarterly engagement reporting and action planning
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, compliance, and workforce governance
- Guide and support a junior HR Coordinator while maintaining your own growth path
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally with 12+ months in a HR Business Partnering capacity
- Confidence and curiosity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong ER/IR knowledge and the ability to coach leaders through complex people matters
- High EQ, resilience, and the ability to build trust with a diverse workforce
- Passion for process improvement, cultural uplift, and genuine employee engagement
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment is highly desirable but not essential
