The Opportunity We’re looking for a motivated and strategic HR Projects Officer to lead the rollout of a variety of people-focused initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture, this role plays a key part in enhancing organisational capability, employee experience, and overall workforce effectiveness.
You’ll take the lead on HR projects from planning through to delivery—bringing structure, insight, and collaboration to every stage of the process.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, manage, and deliver people and culture projects aligned with strategic priorities
- Research and translate HR trends and policy changes into practical, fit-for-purpose solutions
- Develop project frameworks and tools to monitor progress and evaluate success
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure initiatives reflect the needs of the workforce
- Support programs that promote leadership, employee wellbeing, cultural transformation, and inclusion
- Work cross-functionally to embed change and build capability
- Provide clear, well-reasoned insights and reports to senior leaders
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience delivering people and culture projects in a mid-to-large organisation
- Strong project management skills—planning, prioritising, and seeing things through
- The ability to connect, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- A solid grounding in HR practices, workforce strategy, and relevant legislation
- Experience across areas such as OD, IR/ER, wellbeing, DEI and OHS
- A tertiary qualification in HR, business, or a related discipline
- Previous work in local government or complex public sector environments (advantageous)
