The Role
This parental leave cover is a great opportunity for an emerging HR professional to take ownership across the full people & culture function. Reporting to the co-founder, you’ll support the team in recruitment, employee experience, learning and development, and HR operations.
In this role, you will:
- Lead recruitment & onboarding – manage hiring and ensure a smooth start for new employees
- Champion learning & development – deliver programs that support growth and progression
- Oversee employee lifecycle – handle performance reviews, contracts, HR admin, and compliance
- Support leaders & employees – provide practical guidance on policies and employee relations matters
- Drive engagement – coordinate events and initiatives that strengthen culture
- Maintain HR operations – keep records, systems, and policies up-to-date and effective
- Contribute to HR projects – assist with initiatives that improve processes and employee experience
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment with broad exposure to HR. This is perfect for someone ready to stretch into leadership responsibility and take ownership of key people initiatives.
You’ll bring:
- Generalist HR experience with strengths in recruitment and employee development
- Confidence managing compliance, policies, and performance matters
- Prior experience in a learning and development role would be great, but not essential
- Strong interpersonal skills, you build relationships, give feedback constructively, and adapt your approach as needed
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Experience working in ambiguity, where flexibility and initiative are key
