Operating across NSW and supporting a workforce of approximately 400 employees, a large contractor network, and volunteer workforce RFDSSE delivers essential health services through a complex, multi-site and industrial workforce environment. The organisation is continuing to strengthen its People Team function and is seeking a confident and “hands on” self-driven and motivated HR professional to join the team.

The People team provides essential People specialist advice, assisting all areas of the organisation.

With its people focused approach, the team is very diverse, specialising in areas of recruitment and selection, employee experience, employee and industrial relations, payroll, employee wellbeing, and organisational learning.

About the role

Reporting to the Co-Heads of People and working within a collaborative, regionally dispersed People team, this role partners closely with operational leaders across several locations, providing practical employee and industrial relations support while contributing to broader organisational initiatives and projects.  The team is values‑led, supportive, and collaborative but the work itself is largely remote, with purposeful travel to regional sites such as Sydney, Dubbo & Broken Hill.   Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide advice & guidance on employee and industrial relations matters including performance management, and complaint and investigations management
  • Work with leaders to build people leader capability
  • Support EA negotiations with guidance from senior People team members
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing broader People projects and organisational initiatives such as EVP, leadership development, workforce planning, volunteers’ framework, eLearning projects, employee wellbeing, People policy development, updates & implementation, and organisational culture initiatives
  • Support HR systems optimisation and future process improvement initiatives
About you

If you are a confident, self-driven HR generalist with 3–5 years’ experience, strong ER and IR capability, and a passion for purpose‑driven work, this role offers autonomy, variety, and the chance to contribute to meaningful organisational change. You’ll bring experience working in industrial environments, and this role will give you valuable exposure and experience to EA negotiations alongside supportive and experienced leaders.
