This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected not-for-profit organisation as it continues to strengthen its People & Culture capability. The organisation is evolving its existing People Advisor position into a more senior People Partner role, reflecting the increasing complexity of the workforce and the need for deeper HR expertise within the team.
Based in Sydney CBD, this role will partner with leaders across several locations, providing both operational HR support and contributing to broader organisational initiatives.

About the Organisation
The organisation operates across multiple states and supports a workforce of 400 employees, alongside a large contractor workforce. Operating in a complex industrial relations environment, the organisation manages multiple Enterprise Agreements and supports a diverse mix of unionised and non-unionised teams.
The People & Culture function is lean and collaborate, supporting the organisation through a period of continued growth, evolving service deliver and ongoing organisational alignment.

About the Role
This position offers a blend of hands-on HR partnering and exposure to broader people initiatives. You’ll work closely with operational leaders to provide practical people advice while also contributing to key organisational initiatives.
The role has been elevated to bring additional capability into the team and provide stronger HR support as the organisation continues to evolve.
Key Focus Areas
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide practical HR advice and support
  • Manage a range of ER/IR matters, including performance management, investigations and misconduct issues
  • Support leaders navigating Enterprise Agreements and unionised environments
  • Contribute to workforce planning and organisational realignment initiatives
  • Assist in building leadership capability and strengthening organisational culture
  • Participate in broader People & Culture projects and initiatives
  • Support HR systems optimisation and contribute to future HRIS improvements or implementation
   
About You
You’ll bring a solid foundation in generalist HR and are likely stepping up from a Senior HR Advisor or experienced People Advisor role. You’re confident managing ER matters, comfortable operating in unionised environments, and enjoy partnering with operational leaders to find practical solutions. You’re someone who balances good judgement with a pragmatic, down-to-earth approach and enjoys being part of a small, collaborative HR team. Experience within the not-for-profit or purpose-led sector is essential.

  • $110,000 – $120,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)
