Work Type:

Location:

Sydney - NSW

  • Own complex ER matters from investigation through to resolution
  • Sydney location | Hybrid flexibility | National remit
  • Circa $150,000 + super + benefits

About Them
Our client is a large, values-led organisation operating within a highly regulated and complex workforce environment. As the business continues to evolve, it is investing significantly in the future of its People & Culture function, including the development of a dedicated Employee Relations Centre of Excellence.
This transformation will see Employee Relations take greater ownership of formal workplace matters, creating an opportunity for experienced practitioners to play a key role in shaping frameworks, processes, and best practice approaches across the organisation. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the function operates while partnering with stakeholders on a diverse range of complex and high-impact people matters.

About the Role
This newly created Employee Relations Specialist position has been established to support a growing volume of complex case work and organisational change activity.
This is not a traditional ER advisory role. You'll be responsible for managing matters end-to-end, taking ownership from initial assessment through to resolution. The role sits within a specialist ER team that is moving towards a genuine Centre of Excellence model, with accountability for formal employee relations matters across the business.

Your remit will include:
  • Complex workplace investigations
  • Formal disciplinary processes
  • Performance management matters and Performance Improvement Plans
  • Workplace grievances and conduct concerns
  • Fair Work and litigation support
  • Restructure and organisational change matters
  • Terminations and employee disputes
  • Policy development and governance
  • Development of ER frameworks, templates and processes
  • Coaching and supporting People & Culture stakeholders

About You
This role is suited to an experienced Employee Relations professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex problems. You will bring strong technical ER expertise, coupled with the judgement and commerciality to navigate situations where there isn't always a clear precedent or established process to follow. We're looking for someone with extensive experience managing ER matters end-to-end, including investigations, disciplinary processes, workplace grievances, Fair Work matters, terminations and organisational change. You'll be confident assessing risk, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice, and operating autonomously. Comfortable working in an evolving environment where structures, policies and frameworks are still being developed, you will have strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organisation.

Candidates from large, complex, multi-site or unionised environments such as infrastructure, transport, utilities, community services, aged care, healthcare or other workforce-intensive industries are encouraged to apply.
