About them
This is a government agency responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of commercial operations across a highly regulated environment. We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to play a key role in supporting operational leaders through complex workforce challenges.

About the role
Following recent structural changes and under the direction of a newly appointed CEO, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to an evolving and dynamic phase of organisational transformation. It requires adaptability, strategic thinking, and a strong understanding of workforce change.
Key priorities continue to include industrial relations, workforce transformation, and supporting change initiatives. While performance management is well managed within the broader team, this role plays a central part in streamlining HR operations and embedding efficiencies.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic HR support to operational leaders, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Supporting workforce transformation initiatives, including role realignments and structural change
  • Partnering closely with the IR team, contributing to union engagement
  • Working flexibly and proactively to support the evolving needs of the business.
About You
To be considered for a permanent role, prior experience in an industrial, operational, or similarly regulated environment is essential. You will bring at least five years of experience in a generalist HR partnering capacity, or three years in a partnering role with a relevant specialisation. Strong industrial relations capability is critical, with proven experience navigating unionised environments.
You’ll be comfortable working through ambiguity, thrive in resource-constrained settings, and bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to delivering workforce outcomes. Experience supporting workforce transformation and organisational change is highly regarded.

If you meet most, but not all, of the criteria and feel this could be the right step in your career, I encourage you to reach out directly for a confidential discussion.
