About them
Our client is a large, purpose driven organisation that delivers essential services to communities across NSW. Following a recent transformation of the People & Culture function, they are continuing to strengthen their Employee & Industrial Relations capability and are looking for an Advisor to join the team.
About the role Reporting to the Employee & Industrial Relations Lead, you'll provide practical advice and support across a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters.

This role is ideal for an Employee Relations professional with 1-3 years' experience looking to take the next step in their career and build their expertise across a broad range of ER and IR matters.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing ER and IR advice across workplace matters
  • Supporting workplace investigations and case management activities
  • Managing grievances, misconduct matters and workplace conflict issues
  • Preparing briefing notes, reports, correspondence and case documentation
  • Assisting with organisational change and workforce initiatives
  • Researching policies, employment conditions and industrial instruments
  • Supporting compliance, process improvement and best practice outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with managers and key stakeholders
This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid flexibility, with 1-2 days per week in the office.

About you
You will bring:
  • Approximately 2-3 years' experience in Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or a HR advisory role with strong ER exposure
  • Experience supporting investigations, grievances, misconduct matters and workplace conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and procedural fairness principles
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, Law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Experience within government, the broader public sector or another complex, unionised environment will be highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll bring proven Employee and Industrial Relations experience and the confidence to manage matters with a good level of autonomy.
