About them
Our client is a respected organisation within the transport sector, providing essential services across Sydney. They are seeking an experienced HR professional to join the team on a three month contract while they complete the recruitment process for a permanent position.

About the role
Reporting into the HR leadership team, you will partner with operational leaders to provide practical HR support across a broad range of employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Advising managers on employee relations matters including performance, misconduct and attendance
  • Conducting workplace investigations and managing casework
  • Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and company policies
  • Working within a unionised environment and supporting leaders through union related matters
  • Building positive relationships with union representatives and key stakeholders
  • Coaching leaders on people related issues and best practice processes
  • Supporting day to day HR administration and documentation as required
This role is based in Pyrmont and requires a strong onsite presence.

About you
You are an experienced HR Advisor or HR Business Partner who enjoys working closely with operational leaders and providing practical solutions to people challenges.
You will bring:
  • Proven employee relations experience, including investigations and case management
  • Strong knowledge of Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience within blue collar, operational or industrial environments
  • Exposure to working within a unionised workforce
  • Confidence partnering with leaders through complex people matters
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A hands on, proactive and solutions focused approach
To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable operating in a unionised environment and working closely with leaders to navigate a range of employee relations issues.
